Call for Entries

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

All entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2026. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.

ELIGIBILITY

Current AGC Houston member companies (General Contractors and Specialty Contractors) may submit projects completed between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2025.

Projects must be located within the AGC Houston Chapter territory, including the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Freestone, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Leon, Madison, Matagorda, Montgomery, Polk, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, Washington, Wharton and the west half of Liberty.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA:
Projects will be evaluated and scored on the following:

• Contribution to the community and/or environment - 10%

• Safety record - 15%

• Quality of management process in serving the client - 10%

• Project on-time completion - 10%

• Project completed within budget - 10%

• Difficulty of construction and significant project challenges - 15%

• Project uniqueness (based on written description) - 15%

• Video submission meets criteria - 15%

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Your video should clearly explain why your project deserves an APEX award.

Requirements:

• Maximum length: 3 minutes

• Maximum file size: 1GB

• Do not submit in 4K

• Must be filmed on a cell phone (record horizontally)

• No professionally produced marketing videos

• Content must focus solely on the project

You may include: 

• People: Owners, Project team members

• Places: Virtual tours or relevant locations

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Judges will include owners, architects, engineers, and industry partners from Houston and beyond. Judging will be conducted online only from May 15-22, 2026.

AWARDS

Each category may have up to three winners: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

(Not all categories will necessarily have all three award levels.)

Projects may be entered in up to two categories.

There is no limit to the number of entries a company may submit.

Winning projects will be recognized at the APEX Awards Gala on September 25, 2026.

All submitted projects will be featured in the event program and on digital displays at the Gala.

A project can be entered in up to two categories, and there is no limit (per company) to the number of entries in one category.

CATEGORIES

The APEX Committee may reassign entries or adjust categories if needed.

ENTRY FEE

EACH ENTRY MUST INCLUDE:

1. Completed Online Entry Form

   • Click "Submit Now" to get started. Save your work as you go. To start another entry, click the Home button.

2. Required Uploads

   • You will be prompted to upload:

     • Project photos 

     • Project video

     • Company logo

3. ​​Payment
   • Payment is required for each entry
   • Once all information is complete, click "Add to Cart" and follow checkout steps.
   • Cost: $400 per entry

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

• All entries must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2026.
• Payment for all submitted entries must also be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2026.
